Welcome to the
Glasgow
Neighbourhood
The cultural hub of Scotland, dripping with history.
You’re guaranteed a warm welcome in Glasgow – after all, it’s been voted the friendliest city in the world. Aside from the chatty, warm-hearted locals, cosy comfort food and proud heritage, it’s also packed with cutting edge art and culture, a vibrant student scene and some of Europe’s most striking street art. Nightlife here is busy and buzzing, with world class eateries sitting side by side with ancient pubs in which to enjoy a dram or two.
The city is as architecturally gorgeous as it is affable, from 12th-century St Mungo’s Cathedral all the way to the 20th-century "Glasgow Style" developed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, one of the city’s best loved sons. A wee picnic in the Botanic Gardens, dozens of murals, a wander around the People’s Palace – there’s no shortage of beauty in this city. We’ve collected some of our favourite spots for you here but, if you ever need a recommendation, just ask the nearest Glaswegian – they’ll be happy to oblige.
